Tibetan Singing Bowls and Sound Healing
These instruments are not just tools to me. They are extensions of my practice, each frequency chosen to help you find quiet when life gets loud.
A close look at some of my instruments, including a tongue drum and various Tibetan bowls. The frequencies they produce create therapeutic vibrations that offer many physical and emotional benefits.
Here I am using a large gong, whose deep, resonant vibrations are powerful for clearing stagnant energy. This is often combined with Beej Mantra chanting and guided meditation.

About this collection
I do not just play these bowls; I often place them directly on your body. When a bowl rests on your chest or near a tense muscle group, the vibrations bypass the mind and go straight to the physical tension. It is a form of massage for the nervous system that you truly have to feel to understand.
My Sound Healing Approach
Sound healing is more than just listening. It is about immersion. When you join a session at my studio in Juhu or Sanpada, we create a space where you do not need to perform or meditate like a pro. You simply lie down, and the acoustic environment takes over.
My collection includes Tibetan singing bowls, gongs, chimes, tingsha, and a tongue drum. I move through the room, using these instruments to create a wave-like distribution of sound.
What happens during a session?
Each instrument has a unique purpose and frequency.
- Tibetan Bowls: These provide deep, resonant tones that help with grounding and emotional release.
- Gongs: These are powerful tools for clearing stagnant energy and are often paired with Beej Mantra chanting.
- Tingsha & Chimes: These produce higher frequencies, which are excellent for sharpening focus and mental clarity.
Depending on the session, I integrate pranayama (breathwork) or Yog Nidra (a state of non-sleep deep rest) to deepen the experience. If you are booking a private session, we begin with a brief talk to identify specific focus areas, allowing me to select bowl notes that align with your chakra needs.
Why Sound Healing?
Many of my students come in carrying the weight of a busy week in Mumbai. By combining sound with Hatha yoga or gentle stretching, we prepare the body to receive these vibrations. Whether you are dealing with chronic stiffness or just need to switch off your mind, these frequencies provide a tangible way to hit the reset button. My practice is rooted in science and feeling, not just theory, and I invite you to see how your body responds to the silence that follows the sound.
Sushmita Mukhia
I am Sushmita. My journey with sound started because I needed to find calm amidst the noise, and these bowls were the first things that truly spoke to me. Now, I share this frequency-based healing in Juhu, Sanpada, and across the Mumbai Metropolitan Area, helping others slow down their breath and their thoughts.
