About Commercial & Fine Art Wildlife Photography
My Approach
I’m an engineer by training but honestly, I’m just a total jungle keeda (forest nerd). I don’t click wildlife pics just for the sake of it - I want each photo to show the animal’s world, its struggles, and those tiny details that most people miss. For me, every frame is about storytelling wildlife photography, not just a pretty face.
Camera Trap Magic
At night, the jungle changes. I build and set up my own DSLR camera traps to catch what even most trackers haven’t seen - the Ghosts of the Forest. It’s slow work, loads of jugaad (improvisation), and sometimes weeks of waiting for one shot. The payoff? Images of nocturnal species, secretive big cats, and rare behaviors you won’t see anywhere else.
Commissioned Projects
I work with NGOs, magazines, and conservation folks who want visual stories that actually mean something. I’ve shot everywhere, from Bandhavgarh to Masai Mara, even the Arctic. My focus is endangered species photography and using my images to support real conservation work.
Fine Art Prints
If you want a piece of the wild for your wall, I offer fine art animal prints. I’m obsessed with backlight, silhouettes, and dramatic natural light portraits. My work has shown at Nature inFocus Festival, and I offer both monotone and high-key finishes for collectors.
What Drives Me
Light sets the mood. Patience is survival. Conservation comes first. Every image is my way of saying, “Yeh jungle hamara hai” (This forest is ours).

My Story
Hi, I’m Yashpal. Used to be an electrical engineer, but forests kept calling louder. Now, you’ll find me out there, building my own camera traps (sometimes elephants get curious), counting birds, tracking tigers, and snapping photos when the jungle lets me. Saw a pseudo-melanistic tiger once, that was wild! Co-wrote 'Tiger Tiger Burning Bright' too. For me, every photo is a story – a piece of the wild to share.
My Work
Wildlife Photography & Expeditions - I guide small group wildlife expeditions, mentor on photography, and share stories from Indian jungles to the Arctic.
Photography Style - I love backlight and wide shots. My thing is environmental animal portraits, showing animals in their world.
Custom Camera Traps - I build my own DSLR camera traps for nocturnal animal photography – sloth bears, leopards, you name it.
