About First Birthday Celebrations
Planning the perfect cake smash is all about the details. I handle the messy splash cleanup and the creative backdrop design, but I ask that you provide the cake yourself. It keeps things safe and simple, as you know exactly what your little one is comfortable eating, allowing us to focus entirely on those adorable, frosting-covered smiles.
My first birthday sessions are designed to be as fun as they are memorable. I break the shoot down into three relaxed segments to keep your baby happy and engaged:
- Formal Portraits: We start with clean, classic shots to capture your little one's personality and their milestone outfit.
- The Cake Smash: This is the messy, spontaneous part. Whether your baby dives in or explores tentatively, these are usually the most genuine moments.
- The Splash/Bath Cleanup: To end on a high note, we use a prop tub with water and bubbles. It cleans off the cake, and the water play usually brings out the biggest giggles.
I provide all the props, balloons, and themed backdrops, including popular styles like boho, jungle, or fairytale themes. Since little ones have short attention spans, we keep the session moving quickly—typically 90 minutes to 2 hours.
I recommend booking your session a few weeks in advance. If you have a specific theme in mind, let me know early so I can prepare the setup to match your vision. My goal is to capture those tiny, fleeting expressions of wonder and delight before the big day passes by.
