Maharashtrian Bridal Makeovers in Malad & Goregaon
From the traditional crescent bindi to the perfect Nauvari drape, I love crafting the classic Maharashtrian look. Here is a peek at how I style my brides.
A full view of a traditional Maharashtrian bride. I styled her in a beautiful pink Nauvari saree with a contrasting green blouse, complete with an intricate braided hair updo decorated with fresh flowers.
A happy bride twirling in her final look. You can see how the makeup, gold jewelry, and the perfectly draped Nauvari saree come together to create a stunning and traditional bridal appearance.

About Maharashtrian Bridal Makeovers
Getting the Nauvari drape right is about more than just the pleats, it is about making sure you can move and dance comfortably throughout your ceremony. I use specialized pins and structural techniques to secure the saree and heavy temple jewelry so you do not have to worry about adjustments while you are on the stage or greeting guests.
For a Maharashtrian bride, the look is all about precision and tradition. When you book a bridal makeover with me, we start with a consultation to match the makeup to your outfit colors, typically focusing on a radiant base that handles bright stage lights and a soft, classic eye makeup style.
Why the details matter
- The Drape: Whether it is a traditional Nauvari (nine-yard) saree or a Paithani, the draping style must be secure for movement. I focus on double-pinning and ensuring the pleats are crisp.
- Hair Structure: To hold the heavy jewelry, Maang Tikka, and the traditional Gajra (fresh flowers), I use stuffing doughnuts inside your updo. This provides the necessary volume and stability without putting strain on your hair.
- The Traditional Touch: I ensure the crescent bindi is placed perfectly and the Nath (nose ring) is secure. If you are doing a costume change or need to change your jewelry midway, I can walk you through the process.
Trial and Setup
I highly recommend a bridal trial in my Malad or Goregaon studio. We can test your skin prep, try on the jewelry to see how the weight sits, and ensure the hair updo feels comfortable. If you prefer to get ready at home, I bring my entire kit to your venue within 5km of my salon locations, ensuring you have the same, stress-free experience as you would in my chair.
