Featured Wildlife Stories and Cultural Documentation
I document the raw truth of India's wild, finding the sacred threads that link our festivals and heritage to the jungle's rhythm.
This was a day I will never forget, 28th February 2015. After retiring from civil service, I finally had the freedom to pursue my passion fully. On a short notice trip to Tadoba, I was blessed with the sight of this tigress and her family of tiny cubs at a waterhole. It is moments like these, witnessing the tender side of our national animal, that I bring to life in my stories.
During the sacred days of Navratri, I was fortunate to witness this sight of nine pairs of tiger eyes. It instantly reminded me of Maa Durga and her nine divine forms worshipped during the puja. This is a perfect example of how the jungle speaks to our culture, a connection I explore in my writing and talks.
After more than a decade of photographing peacocks, a moment like this is a rare blessing. The sheer power and grace in this display, captured in the heart of Delhi, shows that you do not always need to travel far to witness nature's drama. It is about patience and knowing where to look.
On Mother's Day, this image of a peahen sheltering her peachicks speaks volumes. A mother's love is a universal language, as true in the jungle as it is in our homes. In my work, I often highlight these selfless bonds that are found across all species.
The law of the jungle is swift and absolute. I captured this Crested Serpent Eagle in flight at Rajaji National Park, a live toad in its talons. Capturing such raw, decisive moments of survival helps me narrate the unfiltered truth of the wild in my photo-essays.
This photograph of langur monkeys on an anthill always makes me smile. It looks like a king's court, with the main subject sitting on his throne. This image was appreciated in my solo exhibition and even featured in a book, showing that every creature, big or small, has a fascinating story to tell.
I am delighted to share the poster from my exhibition on the Peacock at the prestigious Museo Camera. Collaborating with renowned artists and sharing my work with the public is a great honour. It is through such events that I can share my passion and stories with a wider audience.
About Featured
My work focuses on documenting rare animal behaviour rather than just capturing pretty images. When you look at my photos, you are seeing a result of patience and a lifetime of observing the wild—from the nine eyes of a tigress family in Tadoba reflecting the nine forms of Maa Durga, to the intimate courting rituals of birds in Delhi. I don't just supply photographs; I supply the stories and context that connect these wild moments to our Indian culture.
Beyond the Lens
Photography is only the first step of my process. I am a storyteller first, and a photographer second. Whether I am contributing to a coffee table book, writing a magazine feature, or conducting an educational session at a school or corporate office, my goal is the same: to bust myths and foster a deeper connection with nature.
Why My Documentation is Different
- Cultural Context: I bridge the gap between the jungle and our living rooms. My articles and talks often explore how wildlife like the Indian Roller (Neelkanth) or the Royal Bengal Tiger are woven into our mythology and festivals.
- Behavioural Accuracy: I do not believe in folklore. I have spent over a decade documenting true animal behaviour—specifically the complex mating rituals of peafowls—to replace old myths with factual, first-hand observations.
- Real Experience: Having transitioned from a long career as a civil servant to full-time nature documentation, I bring a unique blend of discipline and curiosity to every assignment. My work is not about generic wildlife stock photography; it is about specific, verifiable behavioural stories.
How We Can Work Together
- Editorial & Publishing: I provide 800-1200 word natural history articles that are culturally rooted, perfect for magazines, blogs, or publications. Each piece comes with high-resolution, print-ready images.
- Speaking Engagements: My interactive talks are designed for audiences of 20 to 100 people. I use original photography to explain wildlife dynamics, debunk myths, and draw parallels between ecosystem survival and corporate leadership.
- Corporate Keynotes: I deliver after-dinner talks and strategy sessions that use jungle survival as a metaphor for corporate governance and patience.
I am based in Ghaziabad and frequently travel across Delhi NCR to share these stories. If you want to move beyond the surface and understand the wild, let's connect.
