Candid vs Traditional Wedding Photography
Choosing the right photography style is the first step in preserving your memories. We explain how our team balances candid moments with traditional portraits.
In this video, I explain the difference between candid and traditional wedding photography. We believe a blend of both is essential to capture the unscripted emotions and create the timeless family portraits you'll cherish forever.
About Behind the Lens: Our Creative Process
When we cover your wedding, we don't force you to pick a single style. Our typical full-day production includes a 7-member team with dedicated staff for both candid and traditional shots. This means while one photographer follows the natural flow of emotions and laughter, another is focused on the structured family portraits and must-have group shots, ensuring neither gets lost in the rush.
Our Approach to Wedding Photography
Many couples feel torn between wanting the 'candid' look—full of raw, unscripted emotion—and the 'traditional' look, which is essential for family albums. We believe you should never have to compromise.
Why You Need Both Styles
Candid photography is about the magic of the moment. We blend into the background, waiting for those genuine smiles, tears, and laughs that happen when you aren't looking. On the other hand, traditional wedding photography provides the classic, posed perfection that is the backbone of any Indian family album. These are the sharp, well-composed portraits of parents, relatives, and guests that define the official record of your union.
The Team Behind the Lens
Our production process is designed to handle this duality seamlessly. For a standard wedding day, we deploy a team of 7 professionals. This includes a lead candid photographer, a traditional photographer, and an assistant to ensure we capture the wide-angle venue shots and the close-up details. We also include a dedicated cinematography crew with gimbals for stable, cinematic movement. By separating these roles, our photographers can focus entirely on their specialty without switching gear or mindsets in the middle of a ceremony.
Planning Your Coverage
Whether it is the Haldi or the Bidaai, we recommend discussing your priority shots during our pre-wedding consultation. If you have specific family members you want featured or a particular ceremony ritual that needs extra attention, we map that out beforehand. This structure removes the stress from the day, so you can simply enjoy the event while we handle the technical side of framing your story.
