Guided Swimming Sessions & Hydrotherapy for Dogs
Is your dog new to water or a bit nervous? Here at our BSK 6th Stage facility, I jump into the pool with them to build trust and confidence at their own pace.
Building trust is the most important part of my job. With Casper the Golden Retriever, we took it slow until he felt confident enough to swim with me, his family watching proudly from the side.
For Simba's first few laps, I used a gentle leash to guide him and provide support. This helps dogs understand the space and feel secure while they learn to navigate the water.
I'm always right beside them. This fluffy Husky is a great swimmer but still benefits from close supervision to ensure every moment in the pool is safe and positive.
This is the kind of bond we build. Whether they're running alongside the pool or need me to hold them in the water, I'm there to make sure they feel supported every step of the way.
The connection we share is real. After a fun swim, this sweet Labrador just wanted to relax and get some love, showing the deep trust and affection that develops here.
Here is another look at a guided swim session with a beautiful Husky. My presence in the water helps keep the dogs calm and focused, turning swimming into a relaxing and enjoyable exercise.
About Guided Swims & First Timers
If your dog is hesitant or has never been in water, you do not need to worry. I personally get into our bone-shaped swimming pool with them, providing physical support and calm, consistent guidance. Whether it takes a few minutes or a few sessions, we move at their speed—never forcing, always patient—until they feel safe enough to paddle on their own.
Swimming is more than just a fun activity; it is a vital exercise for fitness, muscle strengthening, and joint health. However, for a dog that has never swum or has a fear of strangers, a commercial pool can be overwhelming. That is why we focus on 'guided' sessions rather than just 'rental' time.
Our Approach to First-Timers
We treat every dog as an individual. Some pups are confident, while others are what we lovingly call 'yarannu namballa' (those who don't trust anyone). In our BSK 6th Stage space, we prioritize their emotional state over the clock. I stay in the water for the entire session, ensuring your dog feels secure with a consistent, supportive hand. We often use gentle leashes to guide them, helping them understand how to use their paws and navigate the water safely.
Facility & Safety Details
- Bone-Shaped Pool: Designed with built-in steps and a ramp for easy, gradual entry, which is crucial for dogs with joint issues or those afraid of slipping.
- Hygiene Standards: Every session includes a fresh water wash before entering to keep the water clean, and a post-swim rinse to remove chlorine. We provide an industrial-grade blow dry afterward so you leave with a clean, semi-dry pet.
- Safety First: Life jackets are available for all sizes, and our in-water handler ensures your dog never tires out too quickly. We monitor their stamina carefully, especially for senior dogs or those dealing with weight management issues.
Practical Information
We recommend booking in advance, as we limit the number of dogs on-site to keep the environment calm. If your pet has a specific injury or is undergoing hydrotherapy for a medical reason, let us know beforehand so we can tailor the session intensity.
