Whether your pup is super chill or a bit feisty, I handle them with patience, using positive reinforcement instead of force. If your dog is nervous, I take it slow, let them sniff the equipment, and build their trust before we start.
Grooming with Heart, Not Just Tools
When I say grooming, I mean a proper spa day. Whether your dog needs a simple bath to wash off the dirt or a full breed-specific haircut, my goal is to keep them calm. I use high-quality shampoos that suit different coat types, ensuring the skin stays healthy and the fur remains soft. If your pup has matting or knots, I work through them gently, as I know how painful it can be if done too quickly.
Handling Nervous or Feisty Pups
Sometimes I see dogs who are suspicious, or as I like to say, 'yarannu namballa, yar kailu muttiskollalla' (suspicious, won't let anyone touch). I don't believe in forcing them. I take the time to build a bond. If a dog needs a break, we take one. I use harnesses only when necessary and keep the environment quiet and safe. My years of experience with various breeds, from Indies to anxious rescues, have taught me that patience is the best tool in my kit. Sometimes I see a dog acting like a boss and laugh, thinking, 'ayyo, entha nan maga guru ivanu!' (oh man, what a character he is!).
