Hydroponics and Urban Gardening Installations
Transforming Mumbai's compact balconies and rooftops into productive, pesticide-free vegetable gardens. See how we utilize DWC, NFT, and vertical systems to make urban farming possible in any space.
This is our 1400-plant indoor hydroponics farm in Vikhroli, built within a 340 sq. ft. space. We used our deep technical know-how to design a multi-layer system with specialized grow lights, proving that large-scale, soil-less farming is possible even in the most compact urban areas.
Imagine this on your terrace. This is a Nutrient Film Technique (NFT) system, perfect for growing rows of leafy greens like lettuce and spinach. It's a clean, water-efficient, and highly productive setup for any home in Mumbai looking for fresh, pesticide-free food.
We also specialize in systems for larger plants. This is a Dutch Bucket system, ideal for growing vine crops like tomatoes, cucumbers, and gourds. The clay pebbles provide excellent root support while a drip system delivers precise nutrients, making it a low-maintenance solution for your balcony garden.
This is how hydroponics works. In this Deep Water Culture (DWC) system, you can see the healthy, white roots growing directly in nutrient-rich, oxygenated water. This method allows for rapid growth and is perfect for herbs and leafy greens, demonstrating the core of soilless cultivation.
From a flower on the vine to a fresh harvest on your table. This video shows the journey of our hydroponically grown cucumbers. This is the reward of urban farming: fresh, delicious, and chemical-free produce that you've grown yourself.
We can help you grow a wide variety of vegetables. Here you can see healthy okra (bhindi) plants flowering, alongside capsicum and other greens. Our workshops and setups are designed to help you succeed with all kinds of crops in Mumbai's climate.
We are more than just a company; we are a community of passionate growers. This was our experience at Maker Mela, where we connected with thousands of people, sharing our knowledge and vision for a greener, healthier Mumbai.
About Featured
Hydroponics is not just for commercial farms, it is for your balcony. We always start by checking your space's sunlight duration and water TDS levels because these factors dictate exactly which crops will thrive, whether it is leafy greens in a vertical NFT system or vine crops like tomatoes in Dutch buckets.
Our Approach to Urban Farming
We design systems that work with the realities of city living. Whether you are dealing with a small balcony or a full rooftop, the goal is to produce fresh, toxin-free vegetables with minimal intervention.
Why Different Systems Matter
- Nutrient Film Technique (NFT): Ideal for leafy greens like spinach and lettuce. It uses a thin stream of nutrient-rich water to keep roots healthy without soil.
- Deep Water Culture (DWC): Perfect for herbs and faster-growing greens. Roots are suspended directly in oxygenated water, which promotes rapid growth.
- Dutch Bucket System: Best for vine crops such as tomatoes, cucumbers, and gourds. These allow for deeper root support, which heavier fruiting plants need.
How We Ensure Success
We provide more than just the setup. Our process includes a detailed site audit to map sunlight direction and water quality. This ensures that the system we recommend—be it vertical PVC piping or grow bags—matches your space and lifestyle. We also offer ongoing maintenance services for those who want the harvest without the daily technical management.
Join the Green Revolution
If you want to start small, we have online and offline workshops to help you master nutrient mixing, pH balancing, and pest management. Growing your own food is a skill we are passionate about sharing with the Mumbai community.
