From intricate mogina jade to classic plaits adorned with fresh jasmine, I create timeless South Indian hairstyles that hold up through any ceremony.

A classic South Indian hairstyle featuring a twisted braid, beautifully accented with fragrant jasmine flowers (malli poo) at the top and bottom for a traditional and elegant finish.

For this look, I created a neat, traditional braid and decorated it with jasmine strings and a central pink rose, adding a touch of color to the classic bridal hairstyle.

A clean and elegant South Indian braid, perfect for any ceremony. The look is completed with a jasmine floral arrangement and a traditional kunjalam (tassel) at the end of the plait.

This is a modern fishtail braid combined with traditional elements. I used a jasmine and gemstone headpiece and a black tassel, creating a unique look for a Bigarautta ceremony.

A beautiful fusion hairstyle for a reception. I styled a twisted braid and adorned it with fresh baby's breath and purple flowers to perfectly match the client's blue lehenga.

This engagement look features a classic braid decorated with a jasmine arrangement and a full set of gold temple jewelry jada, creating a rich and divine bridal appearance.

A simple yet elegant hairstyle with a twisted crown leading into a long braid. The look is finished with a side arrangement of fresh jasmine flowers.

About this collection

When you choose a traditional braid, the weight of the jada (hair jewelry) and flowers is a real concern. I use heavy anchoring techniques and hair fillers to make sure your hairstyle stays secure and comfortable from the muhurtham right through to the end of the rituals, without pulling at your scalp.

Getting the perfect South Indian look requires more than just styling; it needs structural preparation. For traditional braids, I use micro-crimping and padding at the roots to create the volume needed to hold heavy gold jewelry.

My Approach to Traditional Styling

I specialize in recreating authentic looks like the classic mogina jade or peacock-inspired braids. Whether you need a floor-length plait using savari (extensions) or a sophisticated look for a varpooja, my process is focused on durability.

  • Jewelry Setting: I don't just pin jewelry on; I secure it properly so it doesn't shift or cause pain during long ceremonies.
  • Flower Arrangement: I sew fresh jasmine gajras directly into the braid structure to ensure they remain fresh and in place throughout your event.
  • Customization: If your natural hair needs extra length or thickness for those traditional looks, I handle the installation of synthetic parandi or extensions to achieve that perfect, voluminous finish.

I travel to your venue across Bangalore and Mysore. Since my technique relies on setting the hair texture first, I do require that your hair be freshly washed and completely dry before I arrive. This ensures the hold sprays and pins work exactly as they should for an all-day, fuss-free hold.
