From upcycled gadgets to 3D printing, explore a collection of behind-the-scenes moments and fun projects from our studio in Bangalore.

They called it trash. I saw a Bluetooth speaker. This video shows how we can turn discarded plastic bottles and some simple electronics into a working speaker, proving that one person's trash is another's treasure.

Here's a tinkering hack for a common household problem. I built this simple water alarm sensor using some broken plastic bits and basic circuitry to prevent my RO filter from overflowing. It's a practical solution we also teach in our classes.

Here's a look at 3D printing in action at the Tinker Den. Kids are using Tinkercad to create their own custom designs and then watching them come to life, layer by layer.

A student works in Tinkercad, a 3D design software, to create a model. This is the first step in the 3D printing process, where imagination starts to take a digital form.

A young girl operates the 3D printer, selecting the file to print. I make sure kids are involved in every step of the process, from design to final production.

A spool of green PLA filament is ready to be fed into the printer. We use this biodegradable plastic to ensure our creations are as eco-friendly as possible.

A group of students watches a 3D printer with fascination. There's a real sense of wonder in seeing a digital file become a tangible object right before your eyes.

Another shot of students gathered around the Tinkernauts sign, eagerly watching a project being 3D printed.

A student monitors the progress of her 3D print. This process teaches patience and an appreciation for the technology that brings her ideas to life.

About Additional Projects & Fun

Often, parents walk in thinking they need expensive gear to get started, but my favourite projects usually begin with a discarded plastic bottle or an old electronic toy. We show kids that they do not need to buy 'stuff' to invent something cool, they just need to look at what is already in the recycling bin with a slightly different perspective.
