Getting these moody shots isn't just about the camera, it's about the lighting setup. We often carry portable Godox or Profoto setups on location, even on a beach at night, to carve out those deep silhouettes. If you want that specific cinematic look, be ready to move around quite a bit while we chase the perfect shadow or wait for that exact sparkler flare to hit the lens.
Our approach to creative and moody photography is simple: we chase the light, even when it’s fading. Many photographers avoid harsh shadows or low-light conditions, but that is where we thrive. Using our Nikon Z8 and Z9 gear, we push the limits of what a pre-wedding shoot can be. Whether it’s using smoke bombs to add depth to a forest portrait or long-exposure techniques to paint with light on a Mumbai beach, we aim for imagery that feels more like cinema than a standard portrait session.
We know that being in front of the camera can feel strange. That’s why we incorporate movement into our shoots. Instead of asking you to hold a pose, we might ask you to walk, laugh, or dance in the rain until the moment feels natural. 'Mera dress fat jayega!' (My dress will tear!) is a panic we’ve heard before, and our answer is always to laugh it off, fix the draping, and keep the scene moving.
