My Invitation Design Philosophy and Process
Ever wonder what goes into a truly personalized wedding invite? I don't believe in templates. Here is how I turn your unique story into a digital keepsake that your guests will actually want to save.
Couples, don’t skip this. In this video, I share three common invitation mistakes you can easily avoid, like copying designs, using too many fonts, and not planning your timeline. A little advice to make the process smoother.
Your wedding invite deserves more than just a Pinterest reference. Here are three things to keep in mind before finalizing your design: be clear about your vibe, choose timeless illustrations, and don't overcrowd the design.
Every couple has a unique story, and I absolutely love hearing them. In this video, I show a little behind-the-scenes of how I create a personalized Save the Date, from the initial concept to the final design.

About My Process & Design Philosophy
When I sit down to design your invite, I am not looking at Pinterest for the latest trends. I am looking at your story—whether it is a specific childhood coffee shop or the way you proposed—to build a concept from scratch. This means no generic templates and zero copy-paste elements, just a layout that feels like your own. I prefer clean, meaningful illustrations over cluttered designs because white space is your best friend when you want the details to actually shine.
How We Get Started
My process is simple because I want it to be fun, not stressful. We start with a chat where you tell me your vibe—are we going royal, minimal, or super quirky? I do not work with pre-set templates. Every project is built from a blank canvas, meaning your invite will not look like the one your cousin sent last year.
The Workflow
- The Brief: We discuss the function, the tone, and your story. If you have a specific city or venue memory, I incorporate that.
- The Design: Whether it is a static multi-page PDF or an animated video invite, I start with typography and illustration styles that match your wedding theme.
- Feedback: You get two rounds of revisions. This is where we fix the layout and make sure the details are perfect.
- Delivery: I deliver high-quality files optimized for WhatsApp, so your guests can open them easily without any technical hiccups.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Copying Designs: Inspiration is great, but duplicating another invite loses the meaning and balance of your own story.
- Overcrowding: Do not try to fit every single detail on one page. Let the design breathe. A clean invite always looks more premium.
- Timeline: Please do not start your invite a week before the event. Design and feedback take time to get right. Aim for a lead time of at least 3-4 weeks for complex projects.
I treat every project like it is a 'ghar ki shaadi' (a wedding in my own home). If you are looking for an invitation designer who cares about the small details as much as you do, let's chat.
