When you need the dance floor shaking, it is all about the mix. I do not just stand behind the console. My signature trio setup combines a live drummer and a percussionist with my DJ set, turning standard dance tracks into a high-octane performance. It is that raw, acoustic punch layered over electronic beats that makes the crowd move, regardless of the occasion.
Whether it is a Sangeet night in Delhi, a high-octane club night at a place like Evva, or a destination wedding in Agra, the goal is always the same: make the crowd louder than the music. I call it Open Format because I do not stick to a rigid playlist. I read the room. If the energy dips, we drop a Punjabi banger or a classic Bollywood remix to bring it back.
My setup is simple but specific. I bring the DJ console, but the real magic happens with the live team. Having a drummer on a full acoustic kit and a percussionist on djembe or congas changes the game. It creates a rhythm you can feel in your chest.
Practical stuff you should know:
- We need stage space. Unlike a solo DJ with just a laptop, a trio setup requires room for the drum kit and percussion gear.
- We arrive 2 hours before the event. That is for a thorough soundcheck, because live instruments and electronic mixing need perfect tuning to sound right.
- If you are planning a 4-hour set, we are locked in. We do not just hit play; we are performing with the crowd the whole time.
- Whether it is a private party or a 250-guest wedding reception, we need a solid PA system to handle the bass. If your venue does not have a pro-level sound setup, let me know, and we can manage the production side as well.
