About Interactive & Specialty Cakes
These interactive designs require extra precision and structural support, so please reach out at least 7 to 10 days in advance. Whether it is a rotating carousel or a piñata cake, we build the mechanics right into the dessert so it is stable, safe, and ready to reveal its magic when you cut into it.
When you want more than just a slice of cake, interactive designs are the way to go. These are not standard cakes; they are mini-performances. My specialty cakes often involve moving parts, hidden layers, or unique ways of serving that get guests talking.
How I Build the 'Wow' Factor
- Rotating Cakes: These use food-grade armatures to spin tiers, perfect for princess castles or whimsical carousels. They need to be balanced perfectly so they rotate smoothly without toppling.
- Piñata & Surprise Cakes: I construct these with a hollow core filled with candies or surprises. The Dahi Handi pot is a personal favourite to build—it is sturdy enough to hold its shape until you smash it.
- Burn-Away Cakes: These have become incredibly popular. I use edible paper that burns away controlled, revealing a hidden image or message beneath. Safety and the right burn speed are everything here.
- Pull-Apart Cupcake Cakes: A practical alternative for larger gatherings. I arrange individual cupcakes in the shape of letters or numbers and frost them to look like a single, cohesive unit. This means no cutting, no plates, and very little mess.
Why Planning Matters
Because I bake from my kitchen in Prabhadevi, I manage every project personally. Interactive cakes often require internal doweling, structural armatures, or specific setup times. I am 100% eggless and FSSAI certified, so while the design is complex, the ingredients remain safe and familiar. If you have an idea—even one that seems impossible—let me know. We can usually figure out a way to make it work while keeping the cake delicious.
