About As Featured In Elle Decor

When I approached the 1,250 sq ft show flat in Gandhinagar, the focus was proving that minimalism thrives on intention. We replaced standard wall finishes with earthy limewash textures and integrated natural rattan to soften the clean, modern lines. This focus on tactile, sustainable materials, and turning functional constraints into design focal points, is why this specific project caught the attention of Elle Decor.

The Gandhinagar apartment showcased in Elle Decor serves as a prime example of my design philosophy. Rather than following trends, I focus on the Japandi ethos, mixing Japanese calm with Scandinavian simplicity. In this project, we worked with existing structural limitations and transformed them into design features, using limewash paints, teak veneers, and rattan shutters to bring warmth. The intent was to create a space that feels grounded, practical, and truly lived in.

For those interested in similar work, the process begins with space planning that prioritizes flow and natural light. We look at everything from flooring, often using terrazzo, to the final selection of art. Whether it is an open-plan living area or a quiet bedroom, the goal is always to create a sanctuary. I believe a home should age gracefully, which is why I favor materials like oak and lime that gain character over time. My approach is to strip away the unnecessary, leaving behind clean lines and a sense of calm that allows the architecture to speak for itself. We specialize in transforming residential apartments and bungalows into homes that feel cohesive, sustainable, and entirely personal to the families residing in them.

I’m Ved Panchwagh. My studio, ST-EM Architecture, creates spaces that prioritize a calming, Japandi-inspired ethos. I do not believe in cookie-cutter designs, so I work to turn every constraint, like an awkward column or a small room, into a functional and beautiful feature.
