My Signature: Real Skin Finish Makeup
Makeup should perfect your features, not hide them. I use a 'Levels of Hydration' technique to create a flawless, breathable finish that looks like real skin—no filters required.
Here is a look from my 'Real Skin Series' focusing on pigmented and deep skin tones. My goal is always to even out the complexion and enhance radiance without changing the skin's beautiful natural color.
Who says cool tones don't work on dusky skin? With the right technique, a cool-toned smokey eye can look absolutely stunning. This is a no-filter look showing how to make it work beautifully.
Here are my top five tips for working on dusky skin. The most important rule is to never try and change the natural skin tone, but to enhance its inherent beauty.
This is a real, unedited look at how I do makeup for acne-prone skin. The key is to use thin layers and focus on color correction to neutralize redness without creating a heavy, cakey finish.
This video demonstrates my technique for achieving a 'glass skin' effect. It’s all about strategic layering of hydrating products and highlighters to create that wet, luminous glow that looks like it’s coming from within.
Another look from my 'Real Skin Series' showing a glass skin finish. You can see that real skin has pores and texture, and my goal is to embrace and perfect it, not hide it completely.

About My Signature: Real Skin Finish
My signature 'Levels of Hydration' method isn't just about applying products; it's about prepping your skin so foundation sits like a second skin, not a layer of paint. I work with thin, mindful coverage, which means we can cover pigmentation or acne while still letting your natural texture shine through—no cakey finish here, theek hai?
Why Real Skin Finish Matters
For most of my clients, the goal is to look like themselves—just polished. Whether you are prepping for a high-definition photoshoot or your wedding day in Delhi-NCR, heavy makeup often looks flat or masks your natural beauty. My philosophy is simple: enhance, don't change. I focus on skin prep as the most important step because if the canvas is hydrated and healthy, the makeup needs to do less work.
My Technique
- Levels of Hydration: I layer toners, emulsions, and moisturizers based on your skin type. This ensures that even under harsh studio lights or on long wedding days, your base doesn't crack or dry out.
- Corrective Base Work: I use strategic color correction to neutralize pigmentation or acne without caking on full-coverage foundation. It’s about balance.
- Dusky & Deep Skin: I never try to alter your natural undertones. I focus on choosing the right gold, bronze, or cool-toned pigments that complement your skin rather than washing it out.
What To Expect at a Trial
I encourage all my bridal and high-fashion clients to book a trial before the main event. Bring your mood boards and reference photos. We will test two different eye looks and base types so you can see how the makeup holds up after 8 to 10 hours. I want you to feel the difference in texture, see the blending, and decide what makes you feel the most confident. This is not just about a pretty photo; it’s about makeup that lasts and feels comfortable throughout your event. Let’s create a look that is exclusively yours.
Saakshi
I’m a makeup artist and educator who’s obsessed with how your skin feels as much as how it looks. I don't believe in changing your skin tone or caking on layers; I'm here to show you how to enhance what you already have using the right techniques and hydration.
