About The Dracaena Collection: Dragon Trees & More
These aren't your typical nursery saplings. When I select a DRACAENA DRACO for you, I’m looking for that specific, thick, mature trunk and the way the branches have naturally curved over years of growth. These are slow-growing, resilient sculptures that bring a sense of history and structure to a living room or office entrance immediately.
Why I love these for interior design:
The Architectural Edge
Unlike soft-leafed plants that flop, the Dracaena Draco has a rigid, structural presence. It works beautifully in modern homes, hotel lobbies, and office receptions where you need to fill vertical space without cluttering the floor. They are surprisingly low-maintenance and can handle indoor conditions well, provided they have adequate light.
My Selection Process
I personally visit the fields to source these. I am looking for mature specimens with lignified trunks—those that are 5 to 10 years old. You will notice in my gallery that these trees have 'character'—some are single-stem, some are branching, and some have that dramatic curve that only comes with age.
Maintenance & Placement
When we pot these for you at the nursery, I ensure we use a heavy-duty, well-draining substrate to support the root ball.
- Placement: These thrive in bright, indirect light. If you have a corner that feels empty or a high-ceilinged room, this is your solution.
- Care: They are drought-tolerant. Do not overwater. Let the top few inches of soil dry out completely between waterings.
I have over ten varieties and sizes available at my Khar studio. If you are an architect or designer looking for a bulk supply for a commercial project, get in touch. I can show you the exact trees ready for delivery so you know exactly what is going into your design.
