Public Infrastructure & Institutional Architecture
Available across India
I design public spaces and institutional buildings by listening to users, using real materials, and solving tough site challenges so the spaces work well for people and last for years.

About Public Infrastructure & Institutional Architecture
Why I Build Public Spaces
I think an architect should always work for people, not just for concrete and glass. For me, public and institutional architecture is about shaping spaces that feel right for everyone - not just for now, but for years to come. It's a big responsibility, and I take that seriously.
My Process, Plain and Simple
Every project starts with listening - sabse pehle sunna padta hai (first, you have to listen). Big projects like airports or university campuses ask for patience, and sometimes there are mistakes, but that's just part of doing real work. We try to get the vision spot on, whether it’s for the Airport Authority or a big college.
What I’ve Built
- Pakyong Airport in Sikkim: Had to literally carve a runway out of the hills, fighting landslides and weather. Not easy, but worth it for national connectivity.
- Institutional campus design for IIT Kanpur, St. Stephen's College, ISID – mixing modern ideas with classic materials like brick and Delhi stone.
- Museums, Convention Centres, and even places like the Jallianwala Bagh memorial.
Making the Impossible Happen
Some jobs test everything you know. At Pakyong, we built an 80-meter high retaining wall and brought back local plants to stabilize the hills. Nature and engineering have to work together, always.
Material Matters
I like to use what feels real: red brick, stone, metal, glass - nothing fake. It keeps the buildings comfortable, sustainable, and honest.
If you care about sustainable civic architecture or need a public space that feels like it belongs, I’m here to help.

My Story
Started Space Ace way back in '91. Geometry, physics, architecture - all tangled up in my head. But I’m a people person, so it’s always been about the client, the land, and the budget. My own home? That’s my pride - built it with mud, stone, glass, wood, you name it. Bioclimatic house, straight from the site’s soil. Shibani, my wife, let me go wild with ideas. For me, architecture is like music, just frozen.
My Work
Our Services - We do institutional and residential architecture, green homes, airports, townships, convention centres, museums - all with a sustainable lens.
Green & Sustainable Focus - We use local materials like compressed stabilized earth blocks, keeping buildings comfy and budgets sane.
Engineering Meets Art - Big projects, tricky sites - like Pakyong Airport’s runway up in the mountains. We balance engineering and nature.
Design Process - No fixed style. We listen first, then shape the project around you and the site. Collaboration is key.
