I open my private studio in Bangalore for collaborations, not paid gigs. Here is how I use lighting and backdrops to create unique ethnic fashion content.

About Studio & Lighting Mastery
My studio setup relies on multi-point lighting to separate the subject from the background, which is essential when shooting detailed ethnic wear like sarees or lehengas. I use rim lights and RGB stick lights to add depth and color, rather than flat lighting. If you want to shoot here, bring a clear concept or a mood board. Since this is a collaborative space, I work best with people who know what they want to create and are ready to experiment with poses until the shot lands.
My studio in Maple Meadows, Kothanur, is a home-based creative space. It is not a commercial rental studio, so don't expect a large, impersonal setup. It is a controlled environment where we can manipulate light to get the exact mood we need.
I focus on technical execution that makes the outfit and the model pop. For ethnic shoots, I typically use a solid red or black backdrop. To make the silver or gold work on a saree or lehenga shine, I position the model carefully against rim lighting. This is the difference between a flat-looking photo and a professional-grade portrait.
We play with RGB stick lights to add subtle color gel shifts. This adds a cinematic feel, especially for festive or movie-inspired themes. The process is hands-on. I am not just hitting a button; I am directing the poses, watching how the fabric flows, and adjusting the angles to ensure the jewellery and the drape look right.
Since these are collaboration sessions, we are partners in the creative process.
