About Classical Dance Photography

I shoot classical dance because I genuinely love the art form, not as a full-time gig. If you’re looking for a paid shoot, this probably isn’t for you. I only do collaboration shoots where we both get to build our portfolios.

What I Focus On

My main thing is capturing the soul of Indian classical dance, especially Bharatanatyam. I want to freeze those moments where your abhinaya (expressions) and mudras (hand gestures) tell a story. I’m all about the details - the alta on your hands, the silk saree, the temple jewelry, and the gajra in your hair.

My Studio & Shooting Style

Most sessions happen at my Bangalore studio. The vibe is a bit different from the usual - think dark, textured backdrops (deep red or black), dramatic studio lighting for dancers, and a moody, almost theatrical feel. I use spotlights and shadows to make your costume and expressions pop.

What You’ll Get

After the shoot, you’ll get a set of high-res, edited images for your portfolio or Insta. I also make short artistic dance reels for Instagram, set to music, showing off your poses and expressions. If you want something real and art-focused, not just another commercial shoot, this is it.
