This is the heartbeat of our movement. From high-energy open mics to inclusive workshops, see how our BTM Layout space brings people together to create, celebrate, and make a real difference.

Here at Karmasthan, our stage is a platform for every kind of talent. This was a magical evening featuring an inclusive classical music performance, with a musician in a wheelchair sharing his voice alongside artists on the tabla and veena, showing how art unites us all.

We are building India's first social space dedicated purely to volunteering. This is us in action, with volunteers on the floor, bringing color and life to our community projects. This is what it looks like to build a movement from the ground up.

Our eco-friendly Rakhi making workshop was all about impact. This collage shows our volunteers working alongside visually impaired participants, crafting with sustainable materials and celebrating together. This is inclusion in its purest form.

The energy of our community in one frame! This is the entire group of performers and audience members from our 'Voices in the Spotlight' open mic night. Our space is made for moments like this, filled with connection, laughter, and shared passion.

The vibe at Sign Fest 2024 was electric! This video captures the joy and energy of our festival celebrating Indian Sign Language, with performances, workshops, and a huge turnout from the Deaf and hearing communities in Bangalore.

This is the result of our 'Craft for a Cause' workshops. Volunteers create detailed, tactile storyboards like this one, which are used as educational aids for children and the elderly, covering topics like family time, health, and daily care.

There's always something happening at Karmasthan. This is a sample of our weekly schedule, packed with diverse activities like book readings, craft workshops, and community events hosted by us and our partner organizations.

The very first Book Circle at our space! A small group of passionate readers came together to share their favorite stories. It’s a perfect example of how our venue is used to build new communities around shared interests.

About Featured

Karmasthan is a functional community space, not a polished corporate hall. It is a raw, 600-800 sq. ft. ground floor area in a residential layout. We rely on natural ventilation and ceiling fans, so if you are planning a high-energy workshop or a gathering, be prepared for a space that feels like home rather than a sterile office environment. This is where the magic happens, and it is perfect for groups who value connection over luxury.

We started as a bunch of friends in 2011 wanting to give back through art and laughter. When we couldn't find a place in Bangalore that welcomed everyone without judgment, we built Karmasthan. This is now India's first social space dedicated to volunteering and inclusion, right here in BTM Layout.

When you book our space, you are not just renting a hall; you are supporting a movement. We host everything from disability sensitization workshops and sign language festivals to open mic nights where artists share their stories.

What to expect at the venue:

  • Inclusive Setup: Our space is designed to be accessible and adaptable. We have a 10x8 ft raised stage for performances and flexible seating arrangements that switch between chairs and floor cushions depending on your event.
  • Technical Details: For performance events, we provide a PA system with two wired microphones and spot lighting suitable for acoustic gigs. For workshops, we offer stackable chairs and tables for up to 30 people.
  • Pricing Reality: We keep our rates affordable to ensure NGOs and community groups can actually use the space. Our hall rental starts at ₹2000 for 4 hours. There is no AC, which keeps our costs low and our vibe 'full josh.'

Whether you are hosting an NGO meeting, a creative jam, or a volunteering meetup, you will find a warm, artistic atmosphere with murals painted by our own volunteers. We invite you to walk in, feel the energy, and build something meaningful with us.

We are the folks who started as friends doing Sunday art sessions and ended up building this inclusive hub. We believe in high josh and real connections, so we made a space where anyone can walk in to create or volunteer. Join the movement and let's make something happen.
