Here is a snapshot from a personal demo session for a prospective student. We offer these so you can experience our teaching method firsthand and we can understand your learning needs.
About A Glimpse into Our Virtual Classroom
When you log into our sessions on Google Meet, expect a distraction-free space where I focus entirely on your progress. I break down every chord or raga bilkul baareeki se (with extreme detail), ensuring you aren't rushing through your lessons. If you opt for private sessions, I record our classes so you can revisit the techniques whenever you practice at home.
How Our Online Classes Work
I understand that the thought of learning a new instrument or vocal style online can feel overwhelming. Many of my students come to me worried that they won't pick it up, or that they are 'too old' to start. My virtual classroom is designed to dissolve that anxiety.
The Teaching Approach We use a structured, live format on Google Meet. Unlike pre-recorded courses, I am there with you in real-time. Whether you are learning Hindustani classical vocals, acoustic guitar, or flute, we follow a simple rhythm:
- Breakdown: Every note is explained. If it's a guitar chord, we look at finger placement. If it's a Raga, we work on Swar and Alankars.
- Pace: We go aaram se (slowly). There is no competition here.
- Feedback: You get immediate corrections on your posture, breathing, or technique.
Private vs. Group Sessions
- Group Sessions: These are excellent if you enjoy the energy of learning alongside others. You get to interact and listen to fellow students, which often builds confidence faster.
- Private Sessions: If you want undivided attention or have a specific goal like preparing for a Gandharva Mahavidyalaya exam, private slots ensure we only focus on your requirements.
Getting Started Before you commit, I always suggest starting with a demo session. This lets you experience how we teach, allows us to assess your current level, and helps you decide if our methods align with your musical goals. You don't need fancy gear to start; just a reliable internet connection and a passion for learning.
