Cinematic Automotive Videography and Car Films
I treat every car as the main character. Through rolling shots, drone tracking, and cinematic lighting, I build a visual story that captures the spirit of your machine.
This cinematic reel for the Honda Elevate was shot in the heart of India, Madhya Pradesh. The film uses a combination of smooth driving sequences on country roads and static shots in nature to position the SUV as the perfect companion for exploring India's diverse landscapes.
A behind the scenes shot of me with the Honda Elevate during our shoot. Having the right gear, like my Sony camera, allows me to capture the vehicle's design and performance from the best angles, even in natural, outdoor lighting.
A powerful image of the Mahindra Thar set against the backdrop of the sacred Kundalpur temples. This shot connects the vehicle's adventurous spirit with my own personal journey and faith, showing how a car can be part of a deeper story.
A side profile of the white Mahindra Thar on a lush green field, with the temple architecture in the background. This composition highlights the car's strong presence and versatility, equally at home in both rugged and serene environments.
An aerial top-down shot of a white Mercedes convertible, showcasing the striking red interior and symmetrical design. This kind of drone photography provides a unique perspective that is perfect for luxury automotive brands.
A dynamic shot of a red Mercedes-AMG, partially obscured by another vehicle, creating a sense of anticipation and focusing on its aggressive front design. This image captures the brand's motto: "The best or nothing."
A collage showcasing the front grille and badging details of a Mercedes-AMG. Close-up shots like these emphasize the premium craftsmanship and powerful branding of luxury performance cars.
A black and white detail shot of the iconic Maybach hood ornament. This minimalist and elegant style of photography is ideal for highlighting the heritage and luxury associated with high-end automotive brands.
A detailed photograph of a Mercedes-AMG wheel, showcasing the intricate design of the alloy and the performance branding. This highlights the performance-oriented details that appeal to car enthusiasts.
An interior shot focusing on the Mercedes-AMG steering wheel and cockpit. The dark, moody lighting creates a sophisticated atmosphere, drawing attention to the driver-focused design and luxury materials.
About Automotive Showcase: Cars
For my automotive shoots, I specifically use circular polarizer (CPL) filters to kill reflections on the glass and paint, which is why the cars in my films pop the way they do. I pair this with drone tracking to get those smooth, sweeping angles that make a static machine look like it is coming to life.
How I Film Your Car
Automotive videography is about more than just a fast shutter speed. It is about understanding the car’s personality and how it interacts with the environment. When I work on a project, whether it is a rugged SUV or a luxury sedan, I focus on specific visual triggers that make a film feel premium.
The Process
- Route Planning & Recce: We start by picking a location that complements the car’s design. If it is an off-roader, we go to rugged terrain. If it is a city car, we find architectural spots that highlight the lines.
- Rolling Shots: This is where the magic happens. I use car-to-car filming setups to capture the vehicle in motion, ensuring we get that perfect sense of speed and weight.
- Drone Cinematography: I integrate aerial shots to establish scale, tracking the car from above to show it dominating the landscape.
- Technical Polish: I edit in Premiere Pro, using speed ramping and aggressive sound design to match the visuals. My color grading—often opting for a moody, high-contrast look—is designed to make the metal, leather, and headlights stand out.
Why Story Matters
I don’t just film a vehicle to show its specs. I film it to show what it feels like to drive it. I have shot for brands like Honda and Mercedes, and the goal is always the same: connect the viewer to the experience. Whether we are doing a short, beat-synced reel for social media or a full-length brand hero film, the narrative arc remains the focus. If you want to showcase your vehicle in a way that stops the scroll, let’s talk about the vibe you are looking for.
