Fashion and Editorial Photography Portfolio
I don't just snap photos, I chase stories. Here is a look at the rhythm and rebellion I bring to every fashion and editorial frame.
This is what it looks like to wear your imagination. A riot of color and texture against the urban landscape, this shot from my "Kaleidoscope" series is about breaking free from conformity and celebrating bold, unapologetic style.
For this Lotus Herbals campaign, we focused on capturing a feeling of radiant, sun-kissed warmth. Using a single, powerful light source against a vibrant orange backdrop, we created a clean, modern beauty shot that feels both sophisticated and full of life.
This video for Myntra FWD captures the raw energy of Gen-Z streetwear culture. We hit the streets to create something that felt authentic and dynamic, using quick cuts and a ground-level perspective to match the vibe of the collection.
Working with Randeep Hooda, the goal was to create a portrait that felt both classic and contemporary. The focus was on his presence and expression, using clean studio lighting to sculpt a timeless image that captures his unique charisma.
From my "RIOT" series, this image is a statement against being silenced. Set against a weathered red door, the styling and direct gaze challenge convention, creating a powerful piece of fashion storytelling that is both raw and defiant.
Here, I played with a single beam of light to create a cinematic, intimate portrait of Dipannita Sharma. The sharp contrast between the artificial sunbeam and the deep shadows crafts a mood of quiet contemplation, turning a simple moment into a story.
This image, which received an honorable mention at the Monochrome Photography Awards, is a study in texture and form. It’s about the connection between self and touch, using the simplicity of black and white to focus on the emotion and detail of the moment.
This is where the magic happens. A behind the scenes look at my process, surrounded by my gear. It’s not about rush or drama; it’s about carefully crafting the light, mood, and intention to get that perfect shot.
About Featured
My work balances the technical precision of studio lighting with the raw, unpredictable energy of street photography. Whether I am shooting a high-concept magazine spread with my 102MP medium format setup or a gritty Gen-Z streetwear campaign, the goal is the same: capturing the soul of the subject rather than just their pose.
This gallery brings together the diverse facets of my practice. You will see everything from the quiet stillness of black and white fine-art photography to the high-octane visual noise of street-led brand campaigns.
The Technical Foundation
I rely on the Fujifilm GFX 100 for commercial work to ensure every texture, from fabric weaves to skin tones, is rendered with clinical precision. However, tech is just the vehicle. The real work happens in the 'pas de deux' between me and the subject. Whether we are sculpting light for a cinematic portrait or running through Mumbai streets for a dynamic lookbook, I treat every project as a manifesto against conformity.
The Process
I never work in a silo. On-set, my crew acts as an extension of my vision, from makeup artists to stylists. We maintain a high-energy workflow, often heard on set as 'chal, chal, ek aur,' to keep the momentum building until we hit that magic frame. My goal is to make the experience feel collaborative and spontaneous, stripping away the drama so we can focus on the light, the mood, and the intention.
Why This Matters
If you are looking for generic, cookie-cutter images, I am likely not the photographer for you. I shoot for brands and individuals who want their visuals to have a pulse. My approach is to move forward, to keep the rhythm, and to find the beat in the chaos.
Shikhar Shukla
I am Shikhar. I see photography as a dance—sometimes I direct, sometimes I let the scene breathe. My goal is to capture the moments that feel raw, honest, and completely real.
