Robotics & Engineering Workshops for Kids
Forget textbooks and theory. Here, kids build working robots, air coolers, and circuits with their own hands. We turn little tinkerers into mini-inventors.
This sister duo worked together to build their very own robotic vacuum cleaner from scratch. They learned how to connect a motor and fan to create suction, and were so proud to see it work!
This young engineer is demonstrating the scribbling robot she built. By connecting a motor to a simple frame, she created a machine that draws abstract art all by itself, learning about circuits and vibration.
Beating the heat with some cool engineering! This student built his own miniature air cooler, learning how a motor and fan work together with ice to generate a refreshing breeze.
This 5-year-old is proudly explaining the parts of the windmill she constructed. She can identify the battery, switch, and motor, and understands how the circuit makes the blades spin.
Understanding electricity starts with a simple circuit. This young learner built his own circuit board with a battery, switch, and LED light, and can explain how the current flows from positive to negative to light it up.
Learning about propellers is key to understanding flight and turbines. Our students build their own simple propeller toys, discovering how the shape of the blades creates lift when they spin.
How is electricity generated from water? This junior scientist is learning about hydropower by watching how flowing water can turn a turbine, a fundamental concept in renewable energy.
About this collection
It is not about watching a video; it is about the motor, the wire, and the battery coming together to make something move. When your child builds their first scribble bot or air cooler, they are learning to troubleshoot real mechanical problems. We do not just hand over a finished kit; we guide them through the assembly so they understand why the circuit lights up or how the gear spins. It is the difference between memorizing a definition and actually building the machine.
How We Build
Kids learn best when they are the creators. In our engineering lab, every session starts with a raw set of components—motors, chassis, wires, and simple tools. We have seen 5-year-olds wire up a working circuit and older kids construct complex air coolers using basic principles of thermodynamics. It builds patience and the confidence to say, "I can fix this."
Learning by Doing
We focus on "simple machines" to explain the big picture. Kids learn to map out a circuit, understand the positive-to-negative flow, and why a gear ratio matters. Whether it is a battery-operated propeller or a robotic vacuum, the goal is always to connect abstract physics concepts to tangible movement.
Practical Details
Classes run in Juhu and Mulund. We provide all the gear, including safety goggles and project components. We keep group sizes small (6-10 children) so every child gets the help they need to get their project working. Expect your child to come home with a working prototype and the messy hands of a true scientist.
Sandbox
At Sandbox, we started because we wanted kids to see science, not just read about it. We are not here to give lectures—we are here to help your child build, break, and learn how things really work. We make science loud, messy, and totally hands-on.
