Custom & Upcycled Indian Wear Designs
Some of my favorite pieces are the ones I have breathed new life into. Let’s create something truly yours, whether we are reimagining a vintage heirloom or designing a fresh festive look from scratch.
This kaftan suit is the perfect example of my design philosophy. I worked with a tailor to transform my mom's 30-year-old saree into this modern outfit, proving that style can be sustainable and sentimental.
I designed this vibrant red cape set for a festive occasion. The dhoti-style pants and attached cape create a dramatic silhouette that’s both modern and rooted in Indian design.
This metallic gold pre-draped saree is another one of my own designs. I wanted to create something glamorous and easy to wear for sangeets or cocktail parties.
I designed this simple off-white suit with gold detailing on the sleeves and pants. It's a testament to how clean lines and subtle embellishments can create a very elegant look.
There's a unique power in a red saree. I designed this one to be simple yet striking, perfect for a wedding reception or an elegant evening event. The focus is on the drape and the rich color.
A quick recap of the three outfits I designed and styled for my brother's wedding. Each look, from the purple mehendi suit to the golden sangeet saree, was created to match the vibe of the event.
A close-up of the golden tissue saree I designed for my brother's sangeet. I focused on a lightweight, shimmering fabric and paired it with antique-style jewelry.
Another look at my self-designed golden saree. The soft waves in my hair and the classic makeup let the outfit be the star of the show.
For the Anand Karaj ceremony, I designed this mauve velvet sharara suit. The intricate hand embroidery on the kurta adds a touch of heritage and craftsmanship.
The full view of my self-designed velvet sharara. The color is unconventional for a wedding, but it felt personal and looked beautiful against the daytime decor.
About My Custom & Upcycled Designs
The most special piece in my wardrobe started as my mom’s 30-year-old saree. I worked with a tailor to transform it into a modern kaftan suit, proving that you do not need a massive budget or a brand-new closet to find your style. It is about taking those sentimental fabrics you already own and giving them a silhouette that actually fits your life today, so you can wear your memories instead of just storing them.
When we talk about custom designs, it is rarely about just picking a fabric and hoping for the best. It is a process of finding the intersection between who you are and what you want to feel like. Whether I am sketching a red cape set for a festive evening or sourcing fabric for a velvet sharara, the goal is always the same: comfort that does not sacrifice elegance.
Upcycling is a huge part of this. We all have that one piece in our cupboard, like a heavy silk saree from a wedding or a suit that does not fit quite right, that we are too attached to give away but never actually wear. I help you bridge that gap. We look at the fabric, assess the current drape, and decide on a silhouette that feels modern. Sometimes it is a quick alteration, and sometimes it is a complete restructuring into something like a kaftan or a dhoti-pant set.
If you are planning for a specific event, such as a sangeet, an intimate wedding, or a festive puja, I guide you through the entire journey. We balance the high with the low, finding ways to mix custom-made pieces with thoughtful accessories so your look feels balanced rather than costume-y. It is all about creating clothes that feel like a second skin rather than a temporary trend.
