A truly sultry smokey eye shouldn't look harsh or closed-in. I build the depth using high-pigment, blendable creams and shadows, ensuring the eyes pop in person and in photos. I pair this with a radiant, skin-like base, never matte-flat, so your complexion looks fresh even under the dim, moody lighting of a cocktail venue.
Evening makeup is about balance. When you go for a bold eye, the skin needs to be luminous to keep the look modern. My process begins with an assessment of the lighting at your venue. For an outdoor evening event, we might opt for a warmer, bronze-toned smokey eye, while an indoor hotel reception calls for deeper, more defined kohl-work and sharp liners.
I work exclusively with premium international brands like NARS, Charlotte Tilbury, and MAC, specifically choosing products that are HD-ready. This is crucial for evening events where flash photography can often wash out features. I ensure the base is set to last through late-night celebrations without caking or creasing.
Because every face has a different structure, there is no single 'smokey' technique I follow. We might do a soft-winged smoke for a more elegant, elongated eye, or a heavily smudged look for a moodier, high-fashion vibe. My goal is to make sure that whether you are walking the red carpet at an event like India Couture Week or stepping onto a dance floor at a friend's Sangeet, the makeup feels like a natural, elevated extension of your personal style.
