Ever wondered how a song goes from a jumble of thoughts to a finished track? Here’s a look at how I turn your stories into original music.

It all begins with your story. I take the details you give me and start mapping out the song's structure, chords, and lyrics in my notebook. This is the blueprint for your custom piece.

Once the lyrics and melody are set, I head into the booth to record the vocals. This photo shows me during a recording session, focusing on delivering a performance that carries the right emotion for the song.

Capturing the perfect vocal take is about more than just hitting the right notes. It's about conveying the feeling behind the words, whether it's for a heartfelt wedding song or an upbeat birthday message.

Good equipment is important for a quality recording. This is my Shure SM58 microphone, a reliable industry standard that helps me capture clear, warm vocals for every custom song project.

After recording, I move to my computer to mix and master the track. This screenshot shows the software I use to balance the instruments and vocals, add effects, and ensure the final song sounds professional.

The moment a new song is finished and saved. It's a great feeling to complete a project, and it marks the beginning of the next creative challenge. Each custom song gets its own dedicated project folder.

A quick behind the scenes look at how I set up for my own DIY photoshoots. Being a photographer helps me create visuals for my music, and I bring that same creative eye to the entire songwriting package.

A song sounds best when the instrument is in top shape. Here are all the tools laid out for a string change on my acoustic guitar, ensuring a bright and clear tone for your recording.

A close up of the new D'addario phosphor bronze strings I use. The right strings make a huge difference in the warmth and balance of the guitar's sound, which is the backbone of my acoustic arrangements.

Another detail shot of the guitar strings. I pay attention to these small details because they all contribute to the final quality of the music I create for you.

About The Making Of A Song

Before I write a single note, we spend 30 to 45 minutes on a video call. You share the stories, the inside jokes, and the vibe, and I just listen. This consultation is how I ensure the lyrics aren't just rhyming words, but are actually about you and the people you care about.

From Story to Song

I’m not the type to use heavy industry jargon. For me, songwriting is about translation—taking your memories and turning them into a melody.

The Process:

  • Consultation: We start with a 30-45 minute chat. I need the messy details, the funny stories, and the specific emotions you want to capture. I take all of this down in my notebook as the blueprint for your song.
  • Writing & Review: I draft the lyrics and melody. You get a first look, and we do one round of edits to make sure the facts, names, and feelings are exactly right.
  • The Recording Booth: I record in my home studio. Whether it’s a bright acoustic guitar track or a soft ukulele backing, I handle every take myself. I use a Shure SM58 mic because it captures that honest, intimate vocal texture I love.
  • The Polish: I spend hours in my DAW (digital audio workstation) mixing and mastering the track. I’m a bit of a perfectionist here, tweaking EQ levels and spatial effects until it sounds clean and radio-ready.

Why the DIY Approach?

I believe in handling the process myself—from changing the strings on my guitar to the final mastering. Sure, it might be more work, but it means you get a track that hasn't been processed by a machine or a big studio team. You get a song that sounds like it was written in a living room, just for you. If you’re ready to get started, aajao—let’s see what we can create.

I’m Ryan. I traded a desk job for songwriting, and while I’m not great at small talk, I’m good at turning your life stories into melodies. If you have a moment that needs a soundtrack, let's write it together.
