Conceptual & Editorial Fashion Photography in Mumbai
I build stories from scratch. From high-fashion campaigns to raw magazine editorials, these shoots are where we push boundaries and create images that actually have something to say.
A high-energy shot for a fitness editorial, blending fashion with athleticism. The dynamic pose and use of props like boxing gloves create a powerful, story-driven image.
A close-up portrait that captures the intensity and confidence of the subject. This shot was part of a magazine feature focused on strong female personalities.
Combining athletic wear with high-fashion posing for a magazine spread. I focus on creating movement and energy, even in a controlled studio environment.
A playful yet strong image from a sports-themed editorial. The composition and styling are designed to be eye-catching and perfect for a feature story.
A full-body shot showcasing the complete look for a magazine editorial. This highlights my collaborative process with stylists to achieve a cohesive and impactful theme.
A close-up portrait with dramatic makeup and lighting. This is from a conceptual series exploring mood and emotion through expressive looks.
A profile shot that uses shadow and light to create a dramatic, high-fashion feel. The focus is on the model's form and the texture of the clothing.
A creative pose that showcases the model's flexibility and the unique styling of the outfit. This kind of conceptual shot is perfect for an artistic editorial spread.
An unconventional pose that challenges the viewer's perspective. I direct models to explore interesting shapes and movements to create memorable images.
An intimate, floor-posed shot that combines vulnerability with strength. The rich colors and heavy accessories add to the narrative of the series.
About Conceptual & Editorial Stories
Most shoots fall apart without a plan, but I thrive in the chaos. For these conceptual stories, I use laptop tethering on set, which lets us review the shot on a big screen in real-time. This means we can adjust the lighting, tweak a pose, or change an angle instantly, ensuring that the final frame captures exactly the vibe we are chasing before we move to the next setup.
How We Build a Narrative
Photography is more than just clicking a button. It is about building a world. When I work on an editorial project, the prep happens long before the camera comes out.
The Pre-Production Phase We start with a moodboard—defining the theme, the color palette, and the level of 'grit' or 'glam' we need. Whether you want to explore moody minimalism, vintage-modern fusion, or high-octane wild glamour, the concept dictates the lighting setup, not the other way around.
On Set: The Technicals My studio sessions at Studio 1965 in Goregaon are designed for results. We use professional strobe lighting to carve out shapes, sometimes employing chiaroscuro techniques to emphasize shadows, other times keeping it clean and bright for commercial clarity. Because I work with a dedicated crew of stylists and makeup artists, we focus on the details—the fabric texture, the makeup intensity, and the body language—that make an image jump off the page.
Editorial vs. Commercial There is a fine line between a beautiful photo and a compelling story. My editorial work focuses on:
- Motion and Drama: Directing models into poses that aren't stiff or boring.
- Creative Direction: Developing narratives that fit magazine standards.
- Technical Precision: High-end retouching that maintains skin texture while giving you that magazine-quality polish.
If you have a concept that needs to be brought to life, I am ready. Let's make something that hits hard.
