Family Property & Who Gets What
- Self-acquired property vs. ancestral property: The rules are totally different. If we're talking about inheritance rights in ancestral property, you get your share by birth. For self-acquired, things change.
- For wives: No share during husband's lifetime, but right to residence. After his passing, she gets equal share.
- Kids: If dad dies without a will, equal share for all in self-acquired property.
- Partition suit for family property: If a sibling refuses your share, legal action is possible.
- Wills & gift deeds: These can control who gets what - but there are twists.
Rental Issues & Eviction
