About South Indian Bridal Mastery

The secret to a perfect South Indian bridal look is all in the layering. In my classes, I demonstrate how to set a matte, sweat-proof HD base that can hold up under heavy temple jewellery and bright silk sarees. We don't just cover makeup application; I teach you how the placement of the matha patti and earrings changes the frame of the face, so you can adjust your technique to balance the heavy gold accessories perfectly.

My Approach to South Indian Bridal Artistry

When you are working with traditional Kanjivaram silks and antique gold jewellery, the makeup needs to be strong enough to stand out but subtle enough to not look overdone. In my 35-day professional course, we move beyond basic application to understand the harmony between styling and makeup.

What You Will Master

  • HD and Airbrush Bases: South Indian weddings are long. You will learn to create a base that stays put, regardless of humidity or long hours of rituals.
  • Eye Makeup for Traditional Looks: We focus on defining the eyes to match the intensity of traditional South Indian jewellery, including sharp winged liners and colour-coordinated eyeshadows that complement silk sarees.
  • Hair Styling: From the intricate poola jada (floral braid) to modern, voluminous updos, you will learn to style hair that supports heavy head jewellery.
  • Jewellery & Draping: Understanding the weight and fall of silk sarees and the placement of waist belts and necklaces is part of the styling process. My students learn how to drape and pin to ensure the bride is comfortable throughout the event.

Learning from My Collection

To give my students a competitive edge, I let them work with my own jewellery and outfit rental collection, 'Rent My Abharan'. You do not need to hunt for props for your portfolio shoots; you will have access to professional-grade temple jewellery, waist belts, and nethi chutti to create the looks I teach.

This training is practical. You will practice on real faces, not dolls. I am there to fix mistakes as they happen, ensuring you walk away with a portfolio that shows you are ready to handle real brides.
