About Beginner Riding Lessons
We do not just put you on a horse and hope for the best. Every beginner lesson starts with the basics of 'tacking up'—learning how to saddle, groom, and handle the animal—so you understand your partner before you even mount. It is about building a foundation of trust before we ever ask the horse to move.
Learning to ride is not just about technique; it is about building a relationship. In our 10-session Foundation Riding Course, we break the process down so you feel secure, not overwhelmed.
What you will learn
We start on the lunge line, where the instructor controls the horse's circle. This allows you to focus entirely on your posture, balance, and how you communicate with your legs and hands without worrying about steering. Once you have built your confidence, we move to independent walking and trotting in our sand arena. You will learn to feel the horse's movement, anticipate their steps, and respond with clear, gentle cues. We celebrate the small wins—getting that rising trot right earns you a sincere 'Shabash!' from us.
