From portraits of deities to personal life scenes, I create detailed storytelling mehndi designs using 100% natural henna for a rich, dark stain that lasts.

About this collection
When I draw a portrait or a specific scene, I focus heavily on spacing and line precision, which is the only way to ensure the image stays clear once the colour develops. These high-density, figurative designs require patience, typically taking between 45 to 60 minutes per arm, but the result is a clean, detailed piece of art that keeps a deep maroon stain for days.
How I Create Storytelling Mehndi
Unlike traditional floral trails, portrait and storytelling mehndi requires a different technique. I use a fine-tip 0.3mm cone for the faces, architecture, and small details to ensure the lines don't bleed into each other as the stain deepens. Whether you want a portrait of Lord Krishna for Janmashtami, Shiva-Parvati for a spiritual look, or a scene from your own life for Karva Chauth, the process is about planning the anatomy and perspective before I lay down the henna.
Why Natural Henna Matters
I make my henna paste from scratch using 100% natural ingredients. For figurative work, this is crucial. Chemical pastes often spread or lose detail quickly. My homemade henna is stringy and elastic, allowing me to draw unbroken lines for domes, jharokhas (windows), and facial features that stay sharp and crisp. When you wash it off after the recommended time, you get that rich, dark maroon stain that makes the design pop.
Customization for Your Event
Every portrait is custom-mapped to the size of your hand. If you want to include specific elements like dates, initials, or architectural motifs like palace domes, we can plan that during the initial discussion.
Common Portrait Requests:
- Festivals: Janmashtami (Krishna portraits), Navratri (Dandiya scenes), Karva Chauth.
- Spiritual: Shiv-Parvati, Radha-Krishna, Ganesha.
- Personal: Couple silhouettes, family initials, or specific life milestones.
Since these designs are time-intensive, I recommend booking in advance so I can give your portrait the time it needs to look perfect.
Ram Mehandi
I’m Gaurav, but you can call me Ram. For me, mehndi is about telling your story, whether it’s through a portrait, a scene, or a hidden name. I use only homemade, natural henna because that deep, dark stain is the final seal on our art.
