Work and life overlap more than we admit. Here is my perspective on how to navigate professional connections with clarity and care.

I'm a published author. This is the book 'Humanise', for which I wrote a chapter on a topic that's becoming increasingly relevant: dating at the workplace.

An inside look at my chapter, "How to create a dating policy at the workplace?" Work fills a large part of our day, and it's natural for connections to form. My chapter explores how to navigate this in a healthy, professional way.

The table of contents from the book 'Humanise', showing my chapter alongside other important conversations about elevating the human experience at work. I'm proud to be part of this project.

About this collection

Most people treat office romance like a taboo. In my chapter for Plum’s Humanise, I argue for a middle ground. We need clear, human-centric guidelines that respect personal boundaries without shaming natural connections. If you are struggling to draw that line between professional life and potential personal interest, it is not about following a rigid rulebook. It is about understanding the impact of your actions on your workplace culture and your own peace of mind.

The tension between personal lives and professional settings is real. Many organizations fear office romance because they associate it with drama or potential HR issues. My goal is to change that narrative. My writing focuses on how we can acknowledge that humans are social beings, even while on the clock.

My chapter, 'How to create a dating policy at the workplace', serves as a guide for individuals and leaders to move past the awkwardness. It is not about banning dates. It is about creating safety, transparency, and respect.

I host reading parties and workshops in Bengaluru offices to break the ice on these uncomfortable topics. We discuss:

  • How to express interest without crossing professional lines
  • Managing expectations when a relationship doesn't work out
  • Why transparency beats secrecy in a professional setting

Whether you are an individual wanting to date without risking your career, or a leader looking to build a healthy workplace culture, I help you look at the human reality behind the policies.
