For most events, I comfortably manage 30 to 50 items per hour for calligraphy, or 12 to 20 for engraving, ensuring every guest gets their personalized gift without a long wait.
My Approach to Live Artistry
I treat every event as a canvas. Whether it is a luxury brand activation or a small wedding, my goal is to blend into the vibe of the event while providing something tangible for guests to take home.
The Techniques I Use
- Live Engraving: I use a 35,000 RPM micromotor drill with diamond-tipped burrs. This allows me to etch glass, metal, and stone bottles with precision. For an extra touch of elegance, I often apply metallic wax paste to the engraved grooves, making the names stand out beautifully on darker bottles.
- Hot Foiling: This is perfect for leather goods like wallets, diaries, or luggage tags. Using a heated stamping tool, I press metallic foil into the surface for a permanent, classy finish.
- Paper Calligraphy: My classic move. Using archival quality inks and professional brush pens, I create handwritten names on event cards, tags, and packaging.
Planning Your Activation To ensure the setup runs smoothly, I typically need a 4ft table, a comfortable chair, and focused lighting on the workspace. If you are opting for engraving, I will need access to a standard 220V electrical point near my station.
I am based in Bangalore but travel across India to bring these experiences to life. Whether you are hosting 30 people or 300, I scale my efforts accordingly, bringing in co-calligraphers for larger, high-volume events.
