Posing is a sadhana, a disciplined practice. Whether it is the Front Relaxed or Front Double Biceps, I break down the science of each mandatory pose so you don't lose points on stage.

The Front Double Biceps is a favorite for many, but hitting it right is a science. I explain how to use external knee rotation to open up the quad sweep and how to breathe to maximize your width without sacrificing your bicep peak.

The Front Lat Spread shows the judges your V-taper. I teach the trick to engage your lats by pushing your elbows forward from the back, not just flaring your arms. This pose is mandatory for Open Bodybuilding but can also impress judges in Classic Physique.

The Back Relaxed pose is your first chance to show the judges your posterior chain. I demonstrate how to properly squeeze the glutes and spread the lats without shrugging the shoulders, creating an illusion of immense width and density.

Your first impression is the Front Relaxed pose. Most athletes get this wrong by either shrugging or not spreading their lats correctly. I explain how to establish a powerful V-taper from the moment you step on stage.

This is the Front Lat Spread in peak condition on stage. Notice the width from the lats and the tight midsection. I teach the technicalities of this pose in my professional posing series on YouTube.

Here is a perfect example of the Front Relaxed pose executed on stage. This is the first impression you give the judges, and it needs to show symmetry, balance, and a commanding presence.

About Mandatory Pose Tutorials

In the Front Double Biceps pose, most athletes lock their knees, which kills the quad sweep and hides muscle detail. I teach you to use external knee rotation to force the quads to pop. This is just one of many small technical fixes that fundamentally change how judges score your symmetry and conditioning.
