There is a distinct kind of peace that comes from a water body. Whether it is a small lotus pond on a terrace or a sprawling rock pool at a resort, we turn water into a living, breathing ecosystem.

The water lily will always have our heart. Here, Komal holds a beautiful day-blooming variety from one of our recent pondscaping projects.

A rare and magical night-blooming pink water lily. Most lilies open in the morning and close by evening, but this one puts on a show after dark.

The stunning reflection of a pink water lily on the dark, still water of a pond at night. This is the kind of serene beauty we aim to create.

About Aquatic Gardens & Water Lilies

Managing a water garden is not just about digging a hole and filling it with water. You have to think about filtration, oxygenation, and the right mix of aquatic plants to keep the water clear and mosquito-free. We treat every pond as a living ecosystem, not just a static decoration, balancing lilies, submerged oxygenators, and edge plants so it stays healthy without constant chemical intervention.

Our Approach to Pondscaping

When we take on a water body project, our primary goal is biological balance. Stagnant water becomes a problem area quickly, so we focus heavily on the mechanics that people often overlook—the pump flow, the biological filter media, and the right ratio of plants to surface area.

The Water Lily Magic

We are obsessed with lilies. They are the queens of the pond, but they need specific conditions to thrive. Most varieties are day bloomers, opening their petals to the sun, but we love sourcing the rare night-blooming varieties for clients who want their water feature to come alive after dark. We advise on depth and placement, ensuring the roots have the right soil base and the leaves have enough surface area to shade the water, which helps prevent algae growth.

What Goes Into Your Pond

  • Design & Zoning: We create naturalistic edges using boulders and gravel rather than rigid concrete lines, making the pond look like it has always been part of your landscape.
  • Plant Layers: We work with three distinct zones. The deep-water lilies, the oxygenating submerged plants that keep the water clear, and the marginal plants at the edges that soften the transition between water and land.
  • Maintenance: A healthy pond is low maintenance, but it does require care. We handle the initial installation and provide a maintenance guide so you know when to prune your lilies and how to check your water quality.

Whether you are in a high-rise apartment in Mumbai looking for a terrace water feature or managing a resort in Goa that needs a sprawling lake-style pond, we bring the same attention to detail. Our team handles everything from the initial waterproofing to the final plant styling, making sure every leaf is perfect before we leave.

We are Komal and Angud. When we are not on the road with our kids, we are probably knee-deep in a pond, checking plant roots or setting up filters. We pour our hearts into these aquatic setups because we know how much a little bit of water changes the vibe of a home or a resort.
