Urban Maternity Photography in Bangalore
City streets, graffiti walls, and interesting architecture bring a modern energy to your maternity session. I love how the texture of an urban backdrop contrasts with the softness of pregnancy, creating images that feel grounded and real.
A black and white shot from an urban maternity session. The strong lines of the city architecture and the subject's confident pose create a powerful and modern portrait.
This composite image showcases the variety of an urban shoot, from a candid walking shot in black and white to a colorful portrait against a graffiti wall. It's a great way to show different sides of your personality.

About Urban Maternity
Most people think of parks or studios for maternity shoots, but the city offers something raw and authentic. Whether it is a quiet alleyway in a busy part of Bangalore or a street with striking geometry, we use your environment to tell your unique story. These sessions are perfect for couples who want to move past the traditional flowers and field look to capture the city life they actually live.
When we shoot in the city, I focus on blending your personality with the environment. It is not about perfect lighting or staged poses. It is about how you move through the world.
Here is how we approach urban maternity photography:
- Texture and Contrast: I use stone walls, steel, and even painted doors to create depth in black and white portraits, highlighting the contrast between the environment and your silhouette.
- Dynamic Movement: Walking shots against city traffic or streetscapes feel more fluid and alive than standing still.
- Film vs Digital: My FED-5 film camera shines in urban light, especially when capturing the specific glow of street lamps or the natural grain of concrete and asphalt. You get that timeless, grainy aesthetic that digital sensors often miss.
If you opt for the Extended or Hybrid packages, we can blend two locations, such as starting in your home where you feel at ease, then heading out to an urban spot to add that modern edge. It is about balance. You get the comfort of your personal space alongside the vibrant, unposed energy of the city.
Svetlana Daizy
I am Svetlana, and I bounce between Bangalore and Moscow with my camera always in hand. I stopped chasing perfection with my old Russian film camera, and now I look for the messy, real bits that make your story yours. If you want maternity photos that feel like the city you live in, edgy and unposed, I am all in.
