Behind the Lens: How I Capture Your Family Story
Photography is about more than just the final result. It is about the connection, the movement, and the trust we build during our time together. Here is a glimpse into what happens on the other side of my camera.
A quick look at my whirlwind month of photoshoots across different countries. It shows me at work in various settings, from a home session in the UAE to a family shoot in India. I truly am an international photographer.
About Behind the Lens
When we start a session, I am not just a bystander behind a lens. I rely on parents to be active participants—singing, dancing, and keeping the energy alive—because the most genuine laughter happens when you interact with each other, not with me. We chase the messy, real bits that define your life right now.
My approach is built on the belief that pictures do not need to be perfect to be beautiful. Whether I am shooting a digital lifestyle session or loading a roll of film into my FED-5 camera, my goal is the same: capturing the quiet moments before everything changes.
The Hybrid Process
I often use a mix of digital and film photography. Digital gives us the flexibility to capture hundreds of moments, while my 35mm film camera forces a slower, more deliberate pace. That grain and those light leaks are not flaws. They are textures of reality that make your family's story feel timeless.
Working Together
Professional portrait photography is often seen as a stiff, posed affair, but I steer away from that. I want to capture you in your environment. If we are in your home, we might be sitting on your couch or by a window. If we are outdoors, we might be walking in a local park in Bangalore or wandering city streets. My job is to guide you, not direct every hand placement or smile.
Travel and Logistics
Because I split my time between India, Russia, and the UAE, my schedule is fluid. I keep my gear simple so I can move quickly. I bring studio lights to your home so you do not have to worry about travel, especially with newborns or pets. When you book a session, we coordinate the dates around my travel, ensuring we get the timing right for your milestone.
