About this collection
Designing a mandap involves more than just picking a color palette. We focus on structural balance, ensuring our antique-finish wooden pillars stand solid against the floral density of the ceiling. For our floral ceilings, we use high-density tuberose strings that maintain their fragrance and crisp appearance throughout the ceremony, which prevents the wilted look often caused by inferior bloom selection.
Our approach to the South Indian mandap is rooted in the architecture of traditional temples. We move away from generic fabric drapes, preferring to build structures that feel grounded and permanent. The base of our work often involves solid wooden pillars, which provide a rich, earthy contrast to the softness of fresh flowers.
The Elements of Tradition
We source fresh marigolds, lotus, and tuberose to create the visual and sensory experience of a classic wedding. The inclusion of traditional brass props, such as Kuthu Vilakku (oil lamps) and water-filled Urlis, is central to our process. These aren't just decorations; they serve as purposeful elements that add light and a gentle, welcoming atmosphere to the stage.
Adaptable Design for Modern Venues
Whether you are hosting your wedding at a venue like Angana the Courtyard or under the sprawling banyan tree at Signature Club Resort, we adapt our mandap construction to the environment. At open-air locations, we prioritize materials that complement the natural surroundings rather than overpowering them. This means using banana leaves for organic textures and focusing on floral arrangements that frame the venue architecture. We plan the layout to ensure your guests have clear sightlines, treating the mandap as the focal point of the entire event space.
Petals
We started designing weddings in 2016 to help couples tell their own stories through decor. For us, a mandap is more than just a stage; it is the heart of your ceremony where heritage meets your personal vision.
