About Timeless Black & White

I treat black and white as a deliberate choice for light, not just a post-processing filter. My approach is to look for natural shadows that frame your faces, which works particularly well to highlight the intricate textures of traditional Maharashtrian attire or the raw energy during a candid laugh.

Why Go Monochrome?

Colour can be distracting. When you remove it, the image shifts from being about the outfit or the backdrop to being about the connection. My black and white work is driven by light and contrast—I wait for that specific moment where the sun hits just right, or where the shadows cast a dramatic shape against a rocky beach in Alibag or a quiet park in Pune.

The Cultural Detail

Whether you are wearing a Paithani saree or a simple kurta, the details of your attire matter. Monochrome photography excels at pulling out the intricate work on your jewellery—the nath, the bangles, the mundavalya—without the visual noise of the background. I find that these images often hold more weight, looking like stills from a classic film rather than just another wedding photo.

My Approach to Your Shoot

If we decide to do a monochrome session, we will focus on movement and intimacy. I want you to be comfortable, so I avoid stiff posing. We will walk, talk, and interact naturally while I hunt for the geometry of the scene.

  • For Couples: This style is perfect if you want a moody, cinematic feel that looks good printed and framed.
  • Technical Note: I shoot these with high dynamic range in mind, ensuring the blacks are deep and the whites have detail, so the final images feel punchy and clear.

Ultimately, I want to give you images that don’t age. Trends in colour grading come and go, but a well-composed black and white portrait stays relevant forever.

I’m Omi. When I’m not hunting for light, I’m looking for the stories that happen in between the main events. I love how black and white photography makes a moment feel still and honest, letting your bond be the only thing that matters in the frame.
