About A&R: Scouting the Next Wave
This isn't just about spinning tracks. I use my platform at SoundsProof to actively mentor new talent and get fresh sounds into the ears of the industry. Whether you are a rapper trying to find your flow or a producer with heat in the hard drive, my job is to bridge the gap between being a bedroom artist and hitting the mainstage.
My approach to A&R is simple: if you have the hunger, I have the platform. I spend my time digging through submissions, checking mixtapes, and scouting local talent across Mumbai to ensure the next big thing does not stay in the dark. This is about building the culture from the ground up, not just handing out opportunities.
Whether it is through my SoundsProof mixtapes or managing lineups for block parties, I look for artists who know their craft, understand the history of the genre, and are ready to put in the hours. I do not just want to hear a catchy hook; I want to see a vision. Understanding the roots of hip-hop is non-negotiable for me, which is why I often break down classic tracks for my community. If you want to be part of the scene, you have to respect where the music came from to know where we are taking it.
