Tick-Free Dog Walking and Safety Protocols
Every walk is a chance for exploration, but it also means checking for those pesky, unwanted passengers. My post-walk routine ensures your dog comes back inside feeling refreshed, clean, and completely tick-free.
Your pet's safety is my top priority, and that care extends beyond the walk itself. I believe in being proactive, which is why I created this guide to help pet parents know what to look for. After every walk, I perform a thorough tick check on each dog as part of my standard safety protocol.
I pay close attention to the little spots where ticks often hide, like between the paw pads. This detailed check is a standard part of my post-walk routine for all boarding and daycare dogs, ensuring they stay healthy and pest-free after their outdoor fun.
About Our Safety-First Promise
You might be used to quick walks, but here, the fun doesn't end until the safety check is done. Every single time your pup returns from a walk, I personally perform a 6-point inspection—checking under the collar, tail, groin, between the toes, under the legs, and the elbows. It’s a non-negotiable part of my day, and it’s how I make sure the only thing your dog brings back from the park is a happy tail wag.
For me, the safety of my furry guests in Vikaspuri is not just a policy, it is a personal promise. When I take a dog out for a walk, I am fully aware of the Delhi environment—ticks and burrs are common, and heat can be a real issue. That is why I have built a structured system that goes far beyond a simple bathroom break.
The Post-Walk Protocol
When your dog returns to the facility, they don't just go back to playing. We start with a mandatory 6-point check. I look into the spots that are easily missed—between the paw pads, under the collar, and the groin area—to catch anything before it becomes a problem. Following the check, we do a dry paw wipe to sanitize their feet before they enter our cage-free, air-conditioned zone.
Why the Cool-Down Matters
Walking in Delhi heat can be exhausting. That is why I include a 15-minute indoor cool-down period immediately after every outdoor session. This prevents overheating and helps the dogs regulate their temperature before they rejoin the group for socialization.
Safe Handling
I maintain a 1:2 walker-to-dog ratio. This ensures that I can give every dog the attention they need, manage leashes properly, and keep a close eye on their behavior. Whether it is a daily walk or part of a boarding stay, your pet receives the same attention I give to my own family.
