Creative Art and Craft Workshops for Kids
Let your little ones get messy and creative. From painting umbrellas to crafting treasures, our sessions build confidence, focus, and fine motor skills through pure, unadulterated play.
A collage from our Dussehra umbrella painting workshop. You can see the entire process, from the initial taping and painting to the final proud display. This multi-step project is great for building focus and seeing a creative idea through to completion.
Painting umbrellas on a sunny day. This activity allows for large-scale creative expression as children use brushes to cover their umbrellas in vibrant colours. The best part is holding up their finished, functional piece of art.
We transformed simple paper plates into a field of adorable mushrooms. This craft involves painting, cutting, and assembling, hitting multiple developmental milestones. The proud smile of a child holding their creation is the best reward.
Who would have thought pasta could be so artistic? In this session, we used penne pasta to create the feathers for these beautiful peacock crafts. It’s a fantastic way to encourage children to see creative potential in everyday objects.
Donut worry, be happy. These paper plate donuts were a huge hit. The children had a wonderful time painting their "donuts" and adding "sprinkles," which is a fun way to practice fine motor control and colour recognition.
Learning about the world around us through art. After a short lesson about the importance of bees, the children created their own buzzing buddies using paper cutouts. This activity combines science, art, and fine motor skills.
Creating personalized photo frames using shells and colourful clay. This is a wonderful tactile activity that results in a beautiful keepsake for the children to take home and display a cherished family photo.
About this collection
Art is not just about making something pretty. In our sessions, we focus on the process. Whether it is using tape-resist techniques on umbrellas or transforming pasta into peacock feathers, I ensure every activity strengthens those tiny hand muscles and boosts concentration. You will see your child move from 'I can't' to 'I made this' in just two hours.
I believe that the best art projects for children are those where the result does not matter nearly as much as the making. When we run our workshops at venues like the Rotary Club in Lavelle Road, I see kids who arrive shy transform into confident little creators. We pick projects like umbrella painting specifically for the developmental steps involved. Peeling off masking tape helps with precision, while painting large surfaces allows for bold, free-flowing movement.
My goal is to give parents in Bangalore a space where kids can get messy without you needing to scrub the floors later. We cover everything. From paper plate crafts that turn into adorable donuts to using everyday items like shells and pasta for tactile art, we introduce new textures and shapes.
We split our batches carefully by age. A one-year-old explores art differently than a six-year-old, and my activities reflect that. For the younger ones, it is about sensory exposure and basic colour recognition. For the older kids, it is about planning, patience, and seeing a complex project through to the end.
Parents often ask if their child is 'artistic' enough. There is no such thing. If they have the curiosity to hold a brush, they are ready. We provide the smocks, the paints, the glue, and the encouragement. You just bring them along, let them explore, and take home their own handmade treasures.
Mums n Munchkins
I am the face behind Mums n Munchkins. My days are spent chasing giggles and paint splatters, helping kids find joy in the mess. I truly believe that every child is an artist waiting for the right tool, and I am here to provide the paint.
