About Mastering Intricate Handwork and Embellishments
In our workshops, we focus on the foundation of all great embellishment: fabric stabilization. Whether you are attempting heavy Zardosi or delicate beadwork, the fabric must be perfectly taut on the frame to prevent puckering or tearing. You will learn the exact sequence of stitching, starting with where to place heavier stones and how to layer delicate sequins for maximum impact without weighing down the garment, ensuring your work remains clean and professional.
At Studio De Design in Rohini, we believe that true fashion design is about understanding what happens under the surface of the fabric. Many people see the finished lehenga or blouse and call it beautiful, but uske peeche mehnat hai. This course bridges the gap between a design on paper and a finished garment on the runway.
What You Will Master
We cover the heavy-duty techniques that define high-end couture. You will gain hands-on experience with:
- Aari and Zardosi: Learn the rhythm of the hook and needle, mastering the traditional stitches that give Indian couture its signature weight and texture.
- Stone and Bead Application: It is not just about gluing stones. We teach you the correct stitching patterns that ensure beads and crystals do not fall off during movement.
- Surface Ornamentation: How to map out intricate patterns on fabric, balancing heavy embroidery with the drape of the outfit.
Learning in a Working Studio
This is not a classroom setting with abstract theory. You are learning inside a live, operational couture house. You will watch how we handle client orders, how we manage the flow from initial sketch to final embellishment, and the specific challenges of working with luxury textiles like georgette, velvet, and raw silk. We keep our batches limited to 4 to 6 students. This ensures that when you are working on your frame, I can personally guide your hand, correct your grip, and help you master the tension of your thread. If you are serious about pursuing a career in design, this is where you learn to do it right.
