High-stakes shoots rely on a precise workflow, from the initial lighting setup to the final post-production retouching. I use tethered shooting on all commercial sets so clients can review raw files instantly, ensuring that every detail, from fabric texture to skin tone, meets the brief before we move to the next shot.
Technical Precision in Commercial Work
Shooting for national publications and major brands requires more than just a camera. It demands an understanding of the visual language that makes a brand recognizable or a cover impactful. When I work on these sets, my priority is the production process. I manage the technical setup, including lighting and digital workflows, so that the entire team can focus on the creative direction.
Production Standards
For print campaigns, I utilize medium format and high-megapixel equipment to capture the detail needed for billboards and large-format magazines. For digital editorials, the focus shifts to mood and cinematic color grading. We maintain a live digital workstation on set, which allows directors and clients to review files immediately. This ensures the frame, pose, and lighting are precise, reducing the need for extensive post-production edits later.
Team Collaboration
A successful shoot is a team effort. Whether we are working on an indoor studio set with controlled lighting or an outdoor location, I rely on my production assistants, stylists, and HMU artists. This level of coordination ensures that the final result is polished, consistent, and ready for release.
