About The Rich Henna Stain
Achieving a dark stain is not just about the quality of the henna; it is about the aftercare. I use a triple-sifted, 100% natural Sojat henna and apply a lemon-sugar sealant, but the final richness depends on how you treat the design in the first 24 hours. Keep the dried paste on for at least 6-8 hours and avoid water contact on the first day to let the natural oxidation process work.
Why the Stain Matters
In the Indian wedding tradition, the depth of your mehendi color is often considered a sign of the love in your relationship. Beyond the superstition, a dark, rich maroon stain simply looks beautiful in wedding photography. It complements your gold jewelry and bridal bangles, making your hand shots look vibrant and complete.
My Natural Henna Process
I do not use chemical cones or black henna, which can be harmful and cause skin irritation. I rely on:
- 100% Natural Sojat Henna: Sourced for its high dye content to ensure a deep color.
- Essential Oils: These are mixed into the paste to help release the dye and provide a pleasant, relaxing scent.
- Fresh Batches: I prepare my henna paste close to your appointment time to maintain its potency.
Tips for the Darkest Result
While I provide the best material, you play a huge role in how the stain develops. Here are my top tips for my Mumbai brides:
- Keep it warm: Henna loves heat. Keep your hands warm after the application.
- Avoid water: Stay away from water for the first 24 hours. This includes avoiding washing dishes or getting caught in the rain.
- The Sealant: I apply a lemon-sugar sealant, but do not over-apply it. A light layer is enough.
- Natural Care: Gently scrape off the dried henna with a butter knife or your fingers. Avoid washing it off with soap for the first day. Applying a bit of mustard or coconut oil after removing the dried paste helps deepen the color further.
Whether you are located in Nala Sopara, Vasai, or across the Mumbai Metropolitan Area, I travel to you, ensuring your bridal mehendi is applied comfortably at your home.
