Practice makes perfect. Here I am sketching a bridal figure on a notepad while traveling on a train. I use every moment to refine my art, a discipline I encourage in my students.

Practice is key to perfecting portraiture. This video shows two of my practice sketches on a notepad, one of Lord Krishna and another of a traditional wedding scene. My classes emphasize drawing on paper first to master the design.

About From Sketch to Skin: The Learning Journey

My teaching method is simple: before you ever touch a client's skin, you master the anatomy on paper. We spend focused time on sketching bridal faces, jaal patterns, and floral borders until your hands move automatically. This practice ensures that when you actually start working with henna cones, you are not guessing—you are executing a design you have already perfected.
