Professional Mehendi Art & Henna Education
A look at my henna journey—from the bridal portraits I design for clients to the foundational skills I teach in my Mumbai classes.
I believe in practice, and my classes are all about hands-on learning. This video shows my students in an offline batch in Mumbai, working on their foundational skills like flowers, leaves, and intricate filler patterns, all starting on paper to build confidence.
This is the level of artistry you can achieve. In my course, I teach advanced figure work, including how to create detailed portraits like this depiction of Shri Ram, from the expression and posture to the fine details of the bow and attire.
Watch closely as I demonstrate how to draw a bride's side face, one of the most requested elements in bridal mehendi. My classes, both online and offline, break down every step, from the initial outline to adding delicate jewelry details with a steady hand.
We start our journey with figures by practicing on paper. Here is a complete Ganpati Bappa design, where I teach students how to master the form, shading, and intricate details before applying them to skin. Ganpati Bappa Morya.
Creating portraits that capture emotion is a key part of my advanced workshop. This design shows two different portraits on each hand, a skill I love teaching to students who want to take their bridal mehendi work to the next level.
The bridal doli is a timeless and intricate design. In this practice piece, I show how to construct the entire scene, including the bride, the detailed palanquin, and symbolic animals like peacocks and deer, a technique covered in my advanced course.
About Featured
I firmly believe that before touching a cone to skin, you must master the pressure on paper. In my studio in Malad East, we spend hours on basic grids, vines, and shading techniques to build your muscle memory. It might sound slow, but this is exactly how my students learn to draw intricate portraits without their hands shaking.
Whether you are a complete beginner holding a henna cone for the first time or an experienced artist looking to master figure work, my goal is to guide you through the process, step by step.
My Teaching Approach
I teach out of my studio in Malad East, Mumbai, and offer live online sessions for students who can't travel. We focus heavily on the science of henna: how to mix the paste, the correct ratio for a dark stain, and how to roll your own cones. You will learn the basics of grid work and motif construction before moving on to the advanced stuff.
What We Cover
- Foundations: We start with paper practice. This builds the confidence needed for clean lines and consistent pressure, which are non-negotiable for professional work.
- Figure & Portrait Work: This is where many students get stuck. I break down the anatomy of faces, using the Golden Ratio for eye and nose placement. You will learn to draw divine figures like Ganpati and Shiva, and bridal portraits that actually look like the couple.
- Bridal Composition: Learning to draw a motif is different from planning a full hand layout. I teach you how to balance heavy, intricate designs with negative space so the final result is elegant and not just crowded.
Why Join My Classes
I don't just lecture. I watch you work, correct your grip, and show you how to fix mistakes instantly. If you are serious about learning, I am serious about teaching. You will get practice kits, including acrylic hands for when you don't have a model, and my full support to get you to that 'wow' factor. Har Har Mahadev.
